The Hondo Education Foundation is an independent not-for-profit organization designed to promote quality education for all students in our fine school district. The foundation's purpose is to advance the partnership with our community by generating and dispursing funds, above and beyond those available through state and federal revenues, for innovative educational proposals that will impact a significant number of students and improve student achievement.
It is our hope for the foundation to raise money through individual and corporate donations. The monies generated will be dispersed in innovative instruction grants not to exceed $4,000 each. The number of grants awarded will be based on the funds generated. All Hondo ISD employees and/or groups who are involved directly or indirectly in the instruction of students are eligible for the grants, and selections will be based on the innovative nature of the proposals as well as their potential for enriching the educational experience of our students.

Spring Fundraising Campaign
DREAM*BELIEVE*ACHIEVE - HONDO
April 1st will mark the beginning of the Spring Fundraising Campaign of the Hondo Education Foundation. The HEF is a non-profit organization founded to help enhance the educational experience of all Hondo ISD students. Since its creation in 2008, the HEF has given over $67,000.00 in grants to HISD teachers and classrooms.
Some grants in the past have financed the purchase of whiteboard technology for middle school students, a new camera for the high school journalism department, new science equipment for intermediate school students and iPads to encourage reading for elementary students; as well as many other teacher-initiated projects.
HEF would like to thank the Hondo Garden Club for their generous donation of $5,000.00. Their continued support is greatly appreciated. HEF would like to thank all who have donated recently and in the past. A special thank you to the Hondo National Bank, the Nunley Firm, the Scott Petty Foundation, and Walsh, Anderson, Gallegos, Green and Trevino, P.C. for their recent donations.
This is a great start to our DREAM-BELIEVE-ACHIEVE fundraising campaign which will continue for the next six weeks.
