The Hondo Independent School District is excited that you are interesting in volunteering! It is the work of individuals like you that has helped make Hondo ISD so successful.
Hondo ISD seeks to create a safe sanctuary for all students, free from crime, violence, drugs and abuse. Pursuant to the Texas Education Code the Hondo Independent School District conducts screenings for any record of criminal history. The district shall obtain the criminal history record of prospective volunteers who will be working with students, including, but not limited to mentors, tutors, field trip sponsors, overnight trip sponsors, any volunteers who will have access to student information, and volunteers who have direct contact with students.
To be considered eligible to volunteer, all individuals must complete the Volunteer Application, the Volunteer Agreement, and the Volunteer Criminal History Record Authorization. Failure to clear the criminal history record check may disqualify you to serve as a volunteer in the District.
Thank you for giving your time to support and enrich our schools and students!
The Volunteer Handbook is required to be read by all volunteers. Included in the handbook are forms that must be filled out and submitted prior to any volunteering. The forms include:
1. Ageement For Volunteers,
2. DPS Computerized Criminal History (CCH) Verification,
3. Volunteer Handbook Receipt, and
4. Confidentiality of Records Agreement
